We’ve got puppies

This weeks highlight was the arrival of our lovely Bess’s puppies. Born late last night under one of our workers caravan… a bit of a drama, but all seven are now in a cosy place with Bess tending to them very well. Many of our Instagram followers would have already seen several pictures and a video!¬† This great event threw us a little but we did manage to get some work done.

Lots of great produce this week, perfect borlotti beans plump and full of large beans, more French and runners too.

Leeks make their first appearance of the season as do squashes and crisp sweet straight off the tree apples and pears.

Lots of greens  chard, cavalo nero, cabbage and broccoli.

Roots, beetroot, golden and red, carrots and potatoes , although technically a tuber.

Raspberries, plums and a few figs…. soon some grapes

Lettuce, salad bags and radichhio

Tomatoes, cucumber and celery

Lots of herbs still on tip top form, parsley, coriander, mint, rosemary, thyme and basil.

Pretty flowers and a batch of beetroot, rhubarb and horseradish chutney.
